1. Stavros Skrepetos: From the branches of the olive tree to the roads of the world. Transferring the olive tree culture with motorcycles
Bio: The Faculty of Balkan, Slavic and Oriental Studies of the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki. Stavros Skrepetos is a student of the Master Program ‘Studies in the Languages and Culture of the Countries of South Eastern Europe’ at the Faculty of Balkan, Slavic and Oriental Studies of the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki. He has participated in the Konitsa Summer School of the Border Crossings Network and some Student Conferences in Istanbul, Bucharest and this year in Belgrade and Zadar. In this year he started to study Slovenian and Turkish language in an initial stadium.
2. Peter F. N. Hörz, Marcus Richter: Between Arrival and Departure – Some Ethnographic Notes on Time and Space in Motels
Bios: University of Applied Sciences, Esslingen and Philipps Universität Marburg. Peter F. N. Hörz teaches Anthropology and Sociology at Hochschule Esslingen. He studied Empirische Kulturwissenschaft/Volkskunde and Erziehungswissenschaft in Tübingen and Vienna. There he got his PhD in 2001. Hörz is author/co-author of numerous publications. Some of them refer to the culture of transport and mobility. Marcus Richter is a research assistant at the Department for European Ethnology at Philipps Universität Marburg. He studied at the Bamberg University and at Tomsk Polytechnic University. Recently he started his dissertation project on appropriation of nature in biodynamic agriculture.
3. Paweł Wita: Hitchhiking in modern Europe. History, impacts and possible uses
Bio: Social Anthropolgy, Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster. Pawel Wita – born in 1989, graduated from Adam Mickiewicz University, master student of Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität. Interested in urban anthropology, political sciences and politics in general. He hitch-hikes a lot.
